Using Speech in Our Writing

This week we have been learning how to add speech to our recount writing. Here is a conversation between a customer and a shopkeeper. We have put their conversation in to writing.

“Hello, what did you want?” asked the shopkeeper.

“Can I have this pen please?” asked the customer.

“Yes, let’s check. That will be four dollars.” replied the shopkeeper.

“Here you are.” said the customer.

“Bye.” said the shopkeeper.

“Bye” said the customer.
